How our articles are made
Every essay starts from primary texts and reputable scholarship. We verify names, dates, and verse citations against published translations, such as public-domain editions in the Sacred Books of the East series, SuttaCentral for Pali sources, and widely used academic introductions. We list our sources at the end of each article so you can check our work.

Where traditions disagree or scholarship is unsettled, we say so rather than smoothing over the differences. When readers point out errors, we correct the article and note what changed.

DharmaDaily was founded by Ram Shekhada. Ram Shekhada is the founder of DharmaDaily. He started the site to give curious readers clear, well-sourced explanations of Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, and Sikh ideas, festivals, and scriptures, written without sales pitches or sensationalism.
